With over 25 years of architectural expertise, I am dedicated to designing spaces that inspire and endure. As President of Aedis Architects, I lead a talented team committed to creating innovative and sustainable solutions for living and learning environments. Throughout my career, I have championed sustainable design, leading the charge to make Net Zero Energy and Carbon Emissions standards a cornerstone of educational architecture in California. My work integrates curriculum, culture, and collaboration, ensuring that every project not only meets the needs of today but also anticipates the challenges of tomorrow. My focuses include:
- Community-Driven Design: Focused on integrating curriculum, culture, and collaboration into facility planning.
- Leadership: Oversee marketing, business development, and company operations, driving impactful results.
- Sustainability Pioneer: Led efforts to make Net Zero Energy and Carbon Emissions and reduced embodied carbon design a standard in publicly-funded architecture.
Signature Projects
Some of my most meaningful projects include the Henry Mello Center, where I gained valuable insights working alongside industry experts, and the Carolyn Clark Elementary School, which allowed me to explore innovative design possibilities. At LeyVa Middle School, I spearheaded efforts to introduce Net Zero Energy principles, while my collaboration with Campbell School District exemplified the power of shared vision, resulting in a 60% reduction in energy consumption.
Outside the Office
Beyond work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, being active in my community and experimenting in the kitchen.
Outreach and Advocacy
In addition to my professional responsibilities, I am an active member of SPUR and the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, where I engage in efforts to strengthen community and industry ties. I also support local colleges by volunteering to expand design internship programs, fostering the next generation of creative professionals.
“I fell in love with the notion of working for the good of others, children in particular. I don’t mind pouring my heart into a project when I know that it will change the world for the better, even in a small way.”
“We are diverse in our backgrounds, but unified in our singular mission to do good work for good people. Architecture is not just about ‘us,’ it’s for everyone.”
